Libby Fischer Hellmann is the author of the award-winning suspense series featuring video producer and single mother Ellie Foreman. Libby grew up in Washington DC, but has lived in Chicago for 30 years, and finds the contrast between the beautiful and the profane in that city a crime writer's Paradise.

She is also the editor of Chicago Blues, a dark crime fiction anthology, which will be released by Bleak House Books in October 2007 and a stand-alone PI novel, Easy Innocence.

She blogs at "The Outfit" (www.theoutfitcollective.com) with six other Chicago crime fiction authors, including Sara Paretsky, Barbara D'Amato, and Marcus Sakey.
